CoLCA Curriculum
In elementary school, the goal of our curriculum is to provide a solid academic foundation in the core classes of Bible, math, reading, science, and social studies/history. At this level, students are taught critical thinking skills, problem-solving strategies, and sound study habits that will prepare them for middle school and independent learning. Daily specials enrich learning and include Physical Education (P.E.), Art, Spanish, ASL, Photography, Home Tech, and more.
Below is a list of resources we use and incorporate into our learning curriculum:
- Bible Class: One in Christ
- Math: Bridges in Mathematics
- Reading and Writing: Core Knowledge Language Arts (K-2), Collaborative Classroom (3-5), Heggerty Bridge to Writing (K-3), Institute for Excellence in Writing (4-5)
- Science: Apologia, Children’s literature, trade books, and hands on experiments.
- Social Studies & History: The Story of the World, high-quality children’s literature, and trade books.
CoLCA Core Knowledge: Three Year Cycle
Crown of Life Christian Academy appreciates the value of a classical education and has implemented Core Knowledge, daily memorization that occurs in every classroom (K-5). Each day students will spend 15-20 minutes going through memory work on all the key subjects offered at Crown of Life, with the primary focus being the Bible. The memory work will cover basic knowledge that a student should master to help prepare him or her for deeper levels of learning in the later years.
Every week the teacher will present new memory work. As the teacher progresses through the school day, she will touch back on the memory from the morning as it applies to the different subjects.
Children’s minds have been described as sponges and Core Knowledge uses this to create memory pegs on which to layer new information about topics. Core Knowledge is a three-year cycle allowing for repetition of material and the opportunity for students to learn more each time information is presented.

We want Christian education to be available for all students. Therefore, our rates are below the national average for private Christian schools, and we also accept all Step Up For Students scholarships, including FES, FTC, FES-Unique Abilities, Hope, and AAA
VPK is a FREE program offered by the state of Florida! We offer 4-day and 5-day classes, available for 4 and 5 years olds. Our full-day Pre-Kindergarten class offers extra learning opportunities to provide extra support in preparing our students for full-day Kindergarten.

Family Responsibility
The family of each student will:
- Ensure student’s records are up to date and complete, including birth certificate, FL Health Form, FL Immunization Record, and academic records from previous schools.
- Ensure students attend school regularly, on time, and are prepared for the day.
- Ensure students adhere to the dress code.
- Adhere to the policies and guidelines in the Crown of Life Christian Academy Family Handbook.

Tuition, Fees, Registration
Tuition for the 2025-2026 Academic Year is $10,000
- Tuition is due by the 5th of each month. A late payment fee may be assessed.
- A sibling discount of 8% is available for each additional elementary student enrolled.
- Annual Payment discount of 2.5% is available for pre-paying the full year’s tuition.
- Crown of Life Christian Academy accepts all Step Up for Students (SUFS) scholarships.
Book & Activity Fee for the 2025-2026 Academic Year is $650
- Book fee includes all consumable books, supplies, and materials.
- Co-curricular P.E. sessions for grades kindergarten through 5th grade are included.
Registration for the 2025-2026 Academic Year is $250
- Registration fee is due at the time of application.
- Registration, book, and activity fees are non-refundable and are used to cover costs associated with enrollment or re-enrollment.
Extended care available (7:30 AM – 8:30 AM & 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM)
- Convenient daily rate of $5 for before care only, $10 for after care only or $15 for both.
Step Up For Students Scholarships (FTC, FES-EO, FES-UA, AAA)
For families receiving Step Up for Students scholarships (FTC, FES-EO, FES-UA, and AAA), CoLCA estimates the out-of-pocket cost for tuition, above what the scholarship covers, will be approximately $200-275 per month, which does not include any sibling discounts or additional scholarships provided by CoLCA. This is an estimate only, CoLCA cannot guarantee how much will be provided by state scholarships next year.
